Dr. Stalk

Don't be fooled by the sophisticated appearance of esteemed Dr. I.M.A. Stalk.  As a sprout, he spent one humiliating night trapped in the produce section of a local grocery store.  How did he get himself into this mess, you ask?  The Scientist who created him wanted him to have a special eyeball.  Not only would it give him a keen sense of observation, a must for a world-class scientist, but it would also transport him from place to place.  All he had to do was Think and Blink.   It sounds simple enough, but as he learned on this fateful day, he had to imagine his destination carefully.  Instead of waking up in the Lab's refrigerator drawer where he sleeps to maintain his fresh, green color, he was startled by the pinch of cold metal serving tongs.  (If you haven't noticed, without his lab coat and his jaunty red scarf, he can easily be mistaken for a number of green vegetables: a spear of fresh asparagus, a bulbous green onion, or a slender stalk of celery.)  He was only saved from being tossed into a mixed salad when an observant customer heard a small voice call out, "I am destined to be great- not some veggie on a  plate!"  Now fully-grown, Stalk's greatest achievement is his EYE for detail (not to mention his fashion sense).  No morphadoodle can leave the lab without his oak leaf stamp of approval.
