Super Nanno

The night was cold and dark.  The moon was full and bright.  Super Nanno Moon Particle lay under a blanket of stars.  "Maybe tonight," he whispered, "maybe tonight my wish will come true."

Nanno was a superhero, a tae kwon do master, a wave rider- a morphadoodle who could fly like an eagle and swim like a fish.  He and his friends Zippy Zach, Leaping Liam, Dance Move David, and Yoyodoodle had the power to fly.  By day, they spanned the globe and rescued anyone in need.  By night, they played soccer in the milky way, ate slices of pizza on Venus, and dined on chocolate cake for dessert on Mars.  It was a wonderful life, but something was missing.  Nanno wanted a dog.

"I've saved St. Bernards trapped in avalanches and Dachsunds trapped in rabbit holes.  I've painted dots on Dalmatians and brushed the knots from Labradoodles.  But none of those canines were right for me."  And as he did every night before he fell asleep, Nanno drew a picture of his dream dog.  "I would call her Abby," he said.  "She would be friendly and fun- and she would have wings."

Just then a shooting star crossed the sky.  Super Nanno made a wish and closed his eyes.  He was asleep in a wink.  He didn't hear Professor Electra tiptoe beside him.  He didn't see Professor Electra hold his drawing up to a moonbeam and then whisk it off to Dr. Stalk at the Lab.  He didn't watch his Notion being mixed with a Potion marked Sirius the Dog Star.  All he knew was that the next morning his wish had come true:  he felt a cold nose press up against his cheek, looked into a pair of the warmest brown eyes, and watched the most beautiful wings he had ever seen lift HIS dog into the sky.
